Natural Remedies

Cold Sores:
If you’re prone to cold sores, avoid eating nuts, seeds and chocolate. They contain arginine, an amino acid that may trigger the problem. When the tingling starts, hold an ice cube against the spot. Use thuja (homoeopathic) ointment to speed healing.
Bruises:
Use a methanol based ointment to increase circulation- it speeds healing and reduces discoloration. Apply an icepack quickly cooling constricts blood vessels. Those with low vitamin C may bruise more easily, so eat lots of citrus, green capsicum, kiwi fruit, spinach and broccoli. If you can avoid aspirin or anti hypertension drugs- they may increase bruising.
Aches and pains:
Relieve a painful tooth by dabbing a few drops of clove oil on or near it. Soothe sinus pain by pressing your thumbs firmly on both sides of your nose. Hold for 30 seconds, and repeat. If you are prone to sinusitis, flush nasal passages with a neti (nasal irrigation) pot.
Headache:
When you feel it coming on, brush it off- Starting above an eyebrow, draw your fingertips or a stiffish hairbrush over your head, back over your ear and down the back of your neck. Repeat starting a little to the right of the previous stroke. Do the same above the other eyebrow until you’ve covered your head. Half an hour later, repeat the process.
